Alan

Alan’s an Ex-Radio Announcer in his 40’s, who’s been pitching his movie scripts for the past five years, about his days as a Stand-Up Comic & Club Manager.

Alan took a part-time position at The Phone Room, thinking it would be for a couple of months, little did he realize it would turn out to be a couple of years!

He misses his days in the comedy club, and to break up the monotony, he tries some new material from his comedy script or his days as a Stand-Up to add to the banter that goes on between his fellow co-workers.

His voice on the phone sounds like a broadcaster on the radio, and the other callers love to do impressions of him, especially Archie & Rainbow.

Alan enjoys eating sunflower seeds, and Archie complains he makes so much noise, that he sounds like a machine gun from his Vietnam days.

Alan’s a guy who likes to read the sport’s page in between calls, and is always getting into conversations about The Lakers, Dodgers, or whatever season it may be.  Some of Alan’s favorite memories growing up were when his Dad took him to the Dodgers each year.

One other characteristic of Alan is that he likes to flirt with the woman callers in The Phone Room, but in a non-aggressive, less threatening way, so the woman callers get a kick out of Alan’s flirtations.

While working at The Phone Room he gets reacquainted with Charli, an actress, who begins to share her experiences in The Phone Room, and they agree to collaborate on a script about the pains & laughter of the employees of The Phone Room.
