Betty Marx

Betty 70’s grew up in Brooklyn, NY. She wears her dyed hair in a red day-glo fashion.

Her parents were the first generation in the USA from Russia. Betty is married to Solly, who’s retired from being an accountant. She was a home maker & raised 3 children, and has 7 grandchildren.

Betty began working at “The phone room” when Solly retired. Sol get’s bored, so he constantly asks her questions: “What’s for lunch, where are my slippers, what’s so & so up to, when are you going out, where’s my glasses, etc. . .

Every day Betty brings fresh baked goods to “The Phone Room”. . .her mother taught her how to cook when she was a little girl. She has a large family & loves being around people, and the energy of “The Phone Room”. Her family lives all over the country & she doesn’t get to see them very often. Betty is always sharing stories about her kids & grand-kids, and has pictures of them all over her desk & in her wallet.

Betty isn’t shy, she states her opinion about everything that goes on in the office. If she agrees with someone, if someone she thinks says the wrong thing, if the coffee pot is empty, the music is too loud, someone’s late, someone’s early, someone is upset, etc. . .”The Phone Room” knows about it.

Betty wears colorful nail polish & dresses very hip for her age. One of her children is a fashion designer & sends her unique outfits made esp. for her.

Betty doesn’t really care about making her quota.  She’s there to brighten her day even at the expense of a customer or a fellow worker, no matter what the cost.
