Fern Gable
Fern: 20-30s'
A no nonsense lady with a touch of a girl that wants to have fun
who fills her sales quota like CEO of a major company.
Fern grew up in the mid-west, and
moved to Houston, TX when her mother remarried. The middle child of a
single Mother with a high school education. Her mother remarried when she
was a teenager to a man who was good to the family. Fern doesn’t
remember being close to either of her parents. Her mother worked all the
time. . .so Fern learned to be independent. Fern became so independent,
she felt she could never depend on anyone, but herself.
Fern keeps her distance from people, not because she doesn’t
like people, but out of having control of her own life.
Her new Step Dad worked for a
market research firm. Fern was interested in developing a relationship
with him, so she hung out with him to learn about what he did. Fern
found researching what certain people liked fascinating, but liked the
interaction between people much better than looking at numbers & a
computer screen.
Fern
learned to be strong, resourceful, and take care of herself. She figured
since her parents couldn’t afford to send her to a major college,
she’d go to cosmetology school & become a hair dresser. Being a
hair dresser would give her the ability to be around creative people
& make a good living.
Since
Fern was picked on as a child, because she wore second hand clothes, she
now made sure she “looked good” at every moment. She dreaded being
put down, and made every effort to make sure this did not happen again.
Fern is a bright soul, and very sensitive to people’s feelings.
She’s committed to making a positive difference in the world, and if
there’s any negative energy around her, she cleans it up ASAP.
Fern
constantly primps. . .making sure her hair, nails, and clothes are in
order at all times. She’s very compulsive about this. She’s makes
sure everything around her is in order. . .the files, phone cord, pens,
pencils, etc….
While
Fern is in hair school, she figures “The Phone Room” will be a great
part time gig. She can use the knowledge she learned from her Step Dad,
using demographics to sell the products & she’ll be able to make
her credit card payments every month.
